Ralph is in the middle of saying something when he begins to loose concentration and forgets what he was talking about it.

Chapter 7
Ralph is proud of what he accomplished, which is wounding the pig.

Chapter 10
A description of Ralph fighting against the other boys, who attacked them.
”All this I meant to say. Now I’ve said it. You voted me for chief. Now you do what I say.”
They quieted, slowly, and at last were seated again. Ralph dropped down and spoke in his ordinary voice

Ralph reminds the boys hey voted him for chief to calm them down .

Chapter 11 - Castle Rock
Lord of the flies shows us all of the boys have these qualities but the boys themselves are beginning to see it in each other.
This is very civilised and adult like language.
[Ralph] was vexed to find how little he thought like a grownup and sighed again. The island was getting worse and worse.
Chapter 8 - Gift for the darkness
When Ralph realises that the boys are losing order and control, he blames the island not the boys.
”Shut up,” said Ralph absently. He lifted the conch. “Seems to me we ought to have a chief to decide things.”
