Chapter 5 - Beast from Water
When Piggy is trying to give advice to the littluns, when they think there’s a beast. He is being sympathetic, trying to explain and not just tell them that there’s no beast.

When their all trying to figure out a plan about the beast after SamnEric supposedly saw the beast. Shows how irrelevant Piggy is compared to the other boys.

This shows how Piggy needs to be looked after and have someone to check on him. Golding used piggy to show the innocence among the boys.

This shows the atavism of piggy. He has not regressed into savagery but it’s vulnerability.

Piggy’s death is not at all dignified but Golding uses the death of Piggy and the destruction of the conch to show the absolute destruction of rationality.
