- neo-adjuvant: can be given before or after surgery (prostate)
- adjuvant: can be given w/ chemo (breast)
- palliative purposes

how is it delivered
A
specialist centres; a few short sessions a week; imaging beforehand to locate target; inpx (mon-fri) OD
external: most common; lie down with machine above you; lead shields over certain parts; clinicians behind glass; not painful
internal: liquids/implants; may stay days/mins or longer; anesthetics may be needed
