Commision on Higher Education (CHED)
It refers to the single national organization endorsed by the Board(e.g. Board of Radiologic Technology) and approved by the Commission to represent a given profession pursuant to the provision of the respective professional regulatory laws.
ACCREDITED INTEGRATED PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION/ACCREDITED PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION (APO)
It is a branch of the Department of Health (DOH) under the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) which is responsible for the regulation, licensing, registration, manufacture, import, export, distribution, promotion, advertisement, and sale of medical devices, radiation devices, and health-related devices.
CENTER FOR DEVICE REGULATION, RADIATION HEALTH, AND RESEARCH (CDRRHR)
It is a government agency under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) which regulates the safe and peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology in the Philippines. It also undertakes the transfer of research to end-users, including technical extension and training services. It is also responsible for monitoring the radiation measuring and/or detecting devices for radiation workers and facilities in the Phils.
PHILIPPINE NUCLEAR RESEARCH INSTITUTE (PNRI)
It is the national professional organization of radiologic technologists accredited by the Professional Regulation Commission. It was conceived in 1954, with primary objectives of uniting radiologic technologists into one umbrella, both from government and private institutions. The objective of the association is to promote the general welfare and upgrade the practice of radiologic technology so as to meet the standard for the protection of life, heath, and property.
PHILIPPINE ASSOCIATION OF RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGISTS, INC. (PART)
It is an organization composed of professional radiologic technologists employed in the government sector. It was founded in 1992 to bring together the radiologic technologists to exert their rights in gaining the position title of Radiologic Technologist. Its mission is to promote the highest achievable standards of patient care and professional service.
PHILIPPINE SOCIETY OF GOVERNMENT RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGISTS (PSGRT)
It is Republic Act No. 10912, otherwise known as the blank Act of 2016”. It is an act that requires CPD as the mandatory requirement for the renewal of a Professional Identification Card. It is the process of tracking and documenting the skills, knowledge, and experience that you gain both formally and informally as you work, beyond any initial training. It is still a mandatory requirement for the renewal of the PRC ID of all registered and licensed professionals. From 45 units, it’s now down to 15 units every three years.
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD)
The blank was created by the Presidential Decree (PD) No. 223, signed by then-President Ferdinand E. Marcos. Its functions are to conduct and administer licensure examinations to aspiring professionals and to regulate and supervise the practice of the professions exercised in partnership with Professional Regulatory Boards.
