Q

Explain the process of G protein linked receptor

A
  1. ligand binds to a receptor that is complementary in shape
  2. this binding causes the receptor to change shape and interact with a g protein
  3. G protein changes shape and interacts with the enzyme adenylate cyclase
  4. adenylate cyclase catalyzes the conversion ATP to AMP.
  5. AMP activates other enzymes within the cell to initiate a metabolic change within the cell.
