Exam 3; Brain Flashcards
Midbrain and Hindbrain
Together form the parts of the brain stem: (pon, medulla oblongata), and cerebellum
Controls heartbeat, blood vessels, respiration
Regulates muscles for movement, balance, posture
Forebrain
Develops into diencephalon
Concerned with emotions and memories
Develops into the thalamus and hypothalamus
Most anterior part of the forebrain will develop into the telencephalon, becomes the two cerebral hemispheres.
Cerebrum
Largest part of the brain consisting of two cerebral hemispheres separated by the deep longitudinal fissure.
What are the Sulci
Central sulcus
Lateral Sulcus
Fissures
Longitudinal fissure
transverse fissure
What are the five lobes
Frontal
Parietal

What are the motor areas
- primary motor cortex
