Four S’s

A
  1. Seen: A child needs to have their inner life attended to by caregiver. “Feeling Felt”.
  2. Soothe: Caregiver is gonna carry out an action which makes me feel calmer when in distress.
  3. Safety: Attachment system is formed to protect the child. Protected from harm and caregiver is not the source of harm or terror.
  4. Security: Supports resilience. Be able to come back and repair (no such thing as ‘perfect parent’) and then move on providing prior “S”’s.
