Quick Tests Flashcards
Pándy test
1️⃣Goal: 2️⃣Indication: 3️⃣Sample:(sampling method) 4️⃣Method: 5️⃣Normal range, unit 6️⃣Path. Condition causing abnormal result misenterpretations
1️⃣ evaluate CSF protein concentration
2️⃣ CNS inflammation
3️⃣ CSF
4️⃣ put pándys reagent in a tray, add 1 DROP of csf to the side
5️⃣ very little, 0.2-0.4g/L
6️⃣ (mostly globulin) +/++/+++ incr. Globulin during cns inflammation(ppt)
7️⃣
Rivalta test
1️⃣Goal: Indication: 3️⃣Sample:(sampling method) 4️⃣Method: Normal range, unit 6️⃣Path. Condition causing abnormal result misenterpretations
1️⃣ differentiate exudate/transudate/FIP
2️⃣
3️⃣ BCF
4️⃣ 1-2 drops BCF into 3% aceto-acetic acid solution
5️⃣
6️⃣ •coagulation(smoky) - labile globulin/fibrinogen coag. EXUDATE
•No coag but sample dissolves - stabile albumin does not coagulate in weak acid
•sample not dissolved, honey-like drop formation: FIP(best fip test!) globulins coag on surface of dense surface of drop
Finrin strand appearance for coag testing
