Why do you want to join the Military
I want to join the military for a number of reasons:
- Serving your country undoubtedly bringss a sense of pride
- It’s a very attractive alternative to the standard 9-5 job. The military lifestyle provides a very unique experience.
- The knowledge and skills I would obtain in surviving and living in a natural environment + plus the opportunity that the military provides in being able to be regularly in nature especially challenging yourself.
- The unique lifelong skills it will provide me with in fitness, compassion, values, mindset and mental grit, peolple’s skills and management.
Why do you want to join the RN?
I have always gravitated towards the Royal Navy - primarily because of some familiy members serving in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines themselves.
Most importantly, i find the Royal Navy is better suited to my character and i find the opporutnities it provides, paritucarly in travel, more attractive than other parts of the military.
I also would like to make a difference by taking part in the humanitiarian aid missions the Royal Navy is involved in.
Why do you want to join as an Officer?
Push myself to the limits
always felt like a natural, despite not being in many roles
Always seeking to become wiser, always had old sibilings so I gained advice and have developed quite a strong emotional intelligence
Naturally I feel people look in my direction to lead and I often fall into the role as a leader - and thats not in the sense of being dominant but rather providing direction and often making the final decision.
I want to learn how to best perform under pressure, becoming a quick learner and always being thoroughly engaged in challenging scenarios
Why do you want to join the RM?
It is my gut feeling - I was not older than five years old when i developed a love for the military and desired to join however, it was not till 2011 when my brother went through his Commando Training…
I have always loved fitness following his training of push ups and pull ups, doing rugby, tennis, rowing, rock climbing and general gym fitness and training.
Also love for nutrition.
It is the ultimate Challenge and therefore for me the ultimate achievement
Life in RM best suits me and the life I seek in the military
I want to broaden my skills getting access to to world class training and opporitunties.
i beleive my love and talent for sports, mental robustness, desire to continously learn and improve, discipline and emotional intelligence will be a great assest for the RM and suit the role required of me.
I also have the ability to motivate others, pushing them to their limits and giving people the mental and/or physical motivation to achieve or carry on something, e.g. often asked for advice and also others around become more physical.
