Explain the purpose and function of the Electoral College
The EC would be able to look beyond state interests to make a wise choice for the entire country. Also, Congress didn’t elect them and the President would feel like he owed them favors.

Equal to the number of representatives sent to both houses of Congress from that state. Senate plus House
