Congress did not have enough gold or silver to mint coins. Which caused a money shortage. Farmers had difficulty earning enough to pay their debts and taxes. Farmers were required to sell their land and livestock to pay their debts.

Describe Shay’s rebellion

Daniel Shay and followers closed down the courthouses so the judges could not take their land. They went to the arsenal in Springfield and seized all the weapons (no army to stop them) but were eventually arrested by the militia.
