*One of the best things i got from my teaching degree is it taught me how to be an effective leader. I was taught how to be in front of and manage people
**in the classroom environment of respect and rapport. I was proactive and arranged student desks and learning groups based on need, personalities and relationships of students.
How does that relate to Costco?
As a supervisor, I would make work teams in the front end and Make sure everyone working in the same area gets along. I will get to know their personalities and who works well with each other to create the best team possible.
Classroom: I managed snack breaks and bathroom breaks with a packed instructional schedule
I think at Costco, that would fit perfectly! I would still manage employees lunch and breaks accordingly.
As a teacher, recent technology. I worked closely on the computer, on Zoom, and on iPads daily to help my students learn.
Costco is also changing how they use technology. Now the board is ran on a tablet. I also learned self checkout and refreshed my memory on eBlocks. I am quick to adapt and learn new ways of doing things.

How did you deal with difficult coworkers?
Listening to coworkers concerns and always being approachable. Trying to find solution to what is upsetting coworker
How you incorporate the mission statement and code of ethics?
I make sure all the customers are treated with respect and that any issues are resolved before leaving the store.
I also make sure that employees are taken care of and lead by example by demonstrating excellent member service in various ways, by making sure the floor is clean, carts are available, and members are being treated with respect.
What motivates you?
Teaching others tasks and skills and motivating them to be successful. I want to create a positive impact in people’s lives. I take pride in watching people I guide grow and become more confident with themselves.
How will you handle an employee/member who gets upset?
I will remain calm and listen to them carefully. I would then apologize for the inconvenience and will do my best to solve the problem. If I could not solve the problem, I would find someone that could.

There was a time a member was inquiring about buying a LAST ITEM, but they didn’t have the item number. I found the item number for them, rang them out, and explained the steps needed to pick up the item later that day.

I was a leader during my SIT program in which I delegated cart sections to the cart crew and ensured each cart crew member understood the objectives and were praised when they successfully reached them.

The pros of being a supervisor are being able to help develop others to reach the needs of the company and to grow and learn about Costco.
What is your greatest weakness?
I like to be thorough with my job and can be a perfectionist. For example, when i was working in the foodcourt, i detailed cleaned everything. My coworker told me i woukd never finish if i cleaned with this much detail. I am working at getting better at seeing amd working towards the big picture
