What is Entresto indicated for?
A
- to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalizations for HF in patients with chronic HF.
- in pediatric patients ages 1+, it’s indicated for the treatment of symptomatic HF w/systemic left ventricular systolic dysfunction

Entresto Contradictions
A
- hypersensitivity to any component
- history of angioedema related to previous ACE or ARB.
- can’t be taken at the same time as an ACE inhibitor or w/aliskiren in patients with diabetes.

Entresto Warning Precautions
A
- observe any signs and symptoms of angioedema and hypotension
- monitor renal function and potassium in susceptible w/diabetes

Drug Interactions
A
- avoid using with aliskiren in patients w/eGFR <60
- potassium sparing diuretics
- NSAIDS- may lead to increased risk of renal impairment.
- increased risk of lithium toxicity if interacted w/lithium.
