A
- study was designed to determine if Entresto was safe to initate for patients who are stable and in the hospital from an acute HF episode.
- patients were enrolled in the trial no less than 24 hrs or up to 10 days after inital presentation at the hospital and while they were hospitalized. they had to be hemodynamically stable.

Safety Results

- the incidence of worsening renal function, hyperkalemia, symptomatic hypotension, and angiodema
- no new safety signals were detected in the trial.

- It was proven that Entresto is in fact safe to be used on inpatients.
- reduction of NT-proBNP was evident as early as 1 week with Entresto vs. enalapril
- trial also included 35% of black patients which was good b/c prior to trial there was limited evidence showing the use of sacubitril valsartan in black patients
