Q
“What is the probability that A does something and B does something.” Do you multiply or add the independent probabilities?
A
Multiply
1
Q
Define polynomial
A
Expressions with multiple terms. The exponent must be whole numbers and the exponents have to be greater than or equal to zero. Also the variable can’t be expressed in terms of division. (1/x isn’t a polynomial)
2
Q
What is the probability of getting 3 tails when a coin is tossed 4 times?
A
(1/4)^4 but since we’re not concerned with order, 4(1/4)^4 = 4/16 = 1/4
3
Q
i^2 = ?
A
-1
