quantitative data collection - true experiments Flashcards
true experiments
this is to find out if something causes something else
independent variable
the variable you change.
eg. treatment type - drugs or cbt.
dependant variable
what you measure
independent vs repeated measures
independent is 2 different groups for 2 different IVs
repeated is the same group for each IV where the activity is completed twice by one set of ppts under different variables.
carry over effects of repeated measures
could do better or worse due to different issues - therefore must randomise orders of IV.
random allocation
to ensure no bias, hat pick - good for big samples, hat pick with equal of each for amount of ppts.
STUPID PERSON CAN MAKE U ACT MORE STUPID OR LESS
group 1 read joey essex book, group 2 read david attenborough book, only 1 page.
