AO1 - pre planned q’s and recorded answers
AO2 - ONS data interviewed about public services
AO3 -✅ researcher presence = cant say no, standardised = reliable ❌ interviewer bias, interviewer character effects responses
OFFICIAL STATS
AO1 - widely used secondary source favoured by positivists
AO2 - spirit level - view data from diff countries = inequality causes social problems + unrest
AO3 -✅ see trends, international comparison ❌outdated data, cant ensure no errors = low validity
POSITIVISTS
AO1 - favour quantitative data, aims to be scientific with natural sciences
AO3 -✅ measure/count, see trends ❌ simplifies complex social issues, overlooks personal interpretation
