Quality Management Flashcards
Quality Plan Content
Apart of PMP. 1. methods of veridfying outputs meet requirements (like testing) . 2. pass/fail for each method (acceptance criteria that verify if fit for purpose). 3. frequency of tests/audits that will be carried out (check external standards and org standards and align with those, add cost for this in the budget) 4. Clear roles and responsibilities concerned with quality (may need certain skill set, identify early and incorporate any availability constraints. 5. What project assurance/control techniques will be deployed? (e.g. audits/inspections etc.). 6. Requirements for resources to cary out testing
Quality management system
made up of control (verifying compliance) and assurance (providing confidence that right processes are being used). In iterative, acceptance criteria will be defined for each time period and used to verify final product. If part of programme/portfolio, may have specific requirements at that level that need incorporating
Quality indicator categories
- Performance metrics - safety standards, code quality. measure performance and determine effectiveness of processes. 2. Output metrics - structural integrity or bug rate. evaluates quality of project output. 3. stakeholder satisfaction - usability or user acceptance. Determine whether outcomes align with their expectations
Quality indicators and the business case
- Justify investment (business case, sets out the why. Indicators justify investment by demonstrating good performance, success of outputs and stakeholder satisfaction). 2. Benefits realisation (set out in business case. indicators to determine if they have been realsied as expected
Quality control techniques
Inspections, walkthroughs, testing, controlling configuration items versions, statistical process control, pareto analysis, process control charts. in iterative - test each project in each iteration and then verify final product on delivery.
quality control features
checking project is done right against carefully written specific acceptance criteria, undertaken by team working for PM and is done after production of the product.
quality assurance technique
check training, audits, vendor certification processes, lessons learned captured?, supplier accreditation (goods are of suitable quality)
Quality assurance features
processes in place and used properly. Start at beginning of project and done throughout. Based on evidence of compliance, undertaken by auditors/independents, requires suitable and carefully written procedures. To provide confidence to all stakeholders that quality requirements will be achieved, scheduled as early as possible
