Q

Stall Recovery

A

Hold control column firmly

  1. Disengage AP and AT
  2. Apply nose down attitude until buffet/shaker ceases (down trim may be required)
  3. Roll in shortest direction if not level flight
  4. Advance Thrust Levers as required
  5. Retraction speed brakes
DO NOT CHNAGE GEAR OR FLAP CONFIG -

for initial climb stalls if YOU ARE AT FLAP 0 CALL FOR FLAPS 1

  1. Check airspeed and thrust adjust as required and return to desired flight path

  2. Push either TOGA switch (if AT not available fly the manual flight procedure)
  3. Verify GA Thrust
  4. Retract speed brake
  5. Monitor system performed

PM will :
monitor and verify actions required and call any trends.
Advise ATC “VELOCITY ___, WINDSHEAR ESCAPE”

  2. Apply MAX THRUST (thrust levers full forward)
  3. Roll wings level & Pitch initially to 20 degrees nose up
  4. Retract speed brake
  5. If terrain contact is likely. Trade airspeed for climb performance to the stickshaker or initial buffet
  6. Don’t change gear and flap config until terrain clearance is assured and alerts have ceased

PM will ensure MAX THRUST is set, Call out trends especially in regards to RAD ALT

18
Q

What is a FAIL PASSIVE AUTOPILOT ?

A

An Autopilot Flight Director System (AFDS) which in the event of a failure,
causes no significant deviation of airplane flight path or attitude but the landing
can not be completed automatically. A DA(H) is used as approach minimums.

any failure below 200’ and still in IMC missed approach must be executed

19
Q

What is a FAIL OPERATIONAL AUTOPILOT ?

A

An Autopilot Flight Director System (AFDS) capable of completing an ILS
approach, autoland and rollout following the failure of any single system
component after passing the Alert Height (AH) without pilot intervention
• ILS operations with no DA(H) are permitted
