For every 10kts IAS you need to reduce, how many nm per 10kts should you anticipate?
1 nm per 10kts of speed
Will a higher airspeed result in a faster or slower descent rate ?
Faster descent rate. High speed descent plus drag eg: gear, flap, speed brake will provide for best altitude loss
At what flap setting can speed brake no longer be used?
Anything above flaps 10
Circle to Land configuration from MDA
Enter the circling area with Gear Down and Flaps 15
When at MDA and within the circling area, Turn 45 degrees for 45 seconds
Abeam threshold

- Landing Flap
On base start a shallow vertical speed maybe 300fpm and intercept FAC
(OEI enter circuit with gear up flaps 10. Abeam threshold - Gear down Flaps 15)
Balked landing TOGA actions
TOGA must be selected on the ground to initiate PWR up if AT is engaged and must be again clicked once airborne to activate the GA/TOGA function
PM - above REF speed call rotate
Loss of Hydraulic System A - what is major system lost ?
Gear
Loss of Hydraulic System B - what is major system lost ?
Flaps
If APU GEN BUS is switched on following OEI operation, What will happen to the AP on affected side of engine failure if engaged ?
This bus transfer will disconnect the AP is the respective AP side emerged is the same as the failed engine Side
What Speed does auto brake system activate for an RTO condition ?
88kts (basically 90kts)
Engine Severe Damage indications ?
Seizure of possibly N1 and or N2 (max may show no n2 normal)
Also an increase in EGT
Engine Separation indications ?
All figures will be dashed as nothing can be read
FAULT light on affected engine fire panel will also illuminate as lined as basically cut
Be cautious about Tracking modes on Takeoff especially when LNAV can’t be engaged on the Ground. At 400’ verify LNAV
As Above
During OEI checklist when APU is available for start. During the 1 min delay before putting ELEC load on. Maybe get an ATIS update for alternate,
Then always return to the checklist and finish it in full.

B737 rough fuel burn per hour ?
2.4 T (1.2T) per side
15 min = 600kg
20 min = 800kg
Fixed Res (30 min) = 1.2 T
What is difference between 350nm ring and 418nm ring ?
350nm ring is alternate for TO alternate
418nm ring is for suitable alternates enroute for non EDTO flights
When can you use the “Commit to destination” philosophy?
When flight time is greater than 2hours and you are within 2 hours of destination.
Required to have a TAF 3 for domestic ops valid until 30 minutes post landing
Can use METAR/SPECI/TAF for international ops (as these include 2hr trends)
Captain just deem the wx conditions suitable to be able to land, even though may be below listed minima but still allows any approach of some kind.
Low vis approaches can’t be planned
What is a typical engine oil burn per hour ?
0.4-0.6 per hour
(Be aware of this on long sectors, make sure enough oil for the return eg: 12 flying hours = 5, so you’d want to have 17 before first sector to ensure min 12 for return)
What needs to be included in a PDC readback ?
SID
SQUAWK
BAY
(FOR YSSY OPS, ALSO RUNWAY AND TRANSITION)
What is a rough figure for LDR?
MAX WEIGHT, FLAPS 30, VREF+5
2000m LDR - this includes 455m air distance
*each blue airport on ND represents a runway 1526m available and is suitable for landing if needed eg: on fire)
Latest point of touchdown example - (150m to 900m or first third of the runway whichever is less)
LDR YPPH RWY 24 - 2070m
LDA - 2163m
For the above where would you nominate latest point of touchdown ?
5 x 150m markers RWY24 = 750m total zone
LDA - 2163 / 3 = 721 m (earliest point = 150m markers, latest point = 721m)
So at Perth you would use the end of the 4th markers as a defined latest point of touchdown. Which equals - 4 x 150 = 600m
How would you confirm refuelling is complete ?
- required fuel shown on gauges
- If DC selector is on BATT, during fuel panel operation this takes power and would show around 28V, once refuelling is complete and fuel panel closed the voltage goes to 30-31V as the APU now recharges the respective battery.

Take torch, first available exit, check condition of exits and slides.
Assist pax upwind aircraft
What is TAT?
Temp of airflow taken into account kinetic heat of the aircraft.
Explain 737 Max Cross FCC system -
On NG FCC flip flops between each flight.
Due MCAS on the max, cross FCC was introduced so the standby FCC always does a reliability check to the operating FCC for trim commands.
If the reasonableness is out of tolerance the FCC will be cut off from making inputs to the STS
On landing, STAB OUT OF TRIM light will illuminate to tell you one FCC was locked out
Give 15 seconds for CM to be seated from cabin ready signal
As above
Takeoff into a HW of 20kts or more may result in THR HLD earlier than target n1
As above
Scavenge pump centre tank
Transfers fuel from centre tank automatically when FWD pump in tank 1 is on and main tank 1 is half full (float valve opens)
What is initial AEO climb speed ?
v2+15 - v2+25
-700 MTOW & MLW
70,080
58,604
Why is an AFT CG beneficial?
Increases the lift available at a given AOA due to the reduced nose up trim required.
Improving aircraft climb perf
Allows a reduced vR & v2 therefore reducing field length required for TO
When is a rolling start recommend?
When XWIND exceeds 20kts or TW exceeds 10kts
When using ATM the takeoff speeds are still calculated as a full rates thrust take off.
Therefore you can apply max thrust anytime and be covered in regards to VMCG/VMCA
If V speeds are lost and no pilot recalls the Vr speed. When should the crew rotate the aeroplane ?
5 to 10kts prior to v2 speed
Once above white bug OEI you have full bank 30 degrees.
When below the white bug limit bank to 15 degrees.
Although the FD may command more
As above
What does the green light on MCP mode mean ?
The mode can be deselected
Can you conduct an auto land off a GLS?
Yes.
Check company 10-7 charts for approved runways. Some runways are approved with no ILS. So can do it from GLS
OPT QNH calculation - when do you need to recalculate ?
When QNH drops more then 1 hpa
Can have unlimited changes in an increase scenario
When must engine anti-ice be on during climb, cruise and descent ?
Anti ice must be on during climb and cruise unless SAT is below -40 degrees.
On descent it must be on in all icing conditions even if it’s below -40 degrees. Until TAT +10 or exiting icing conditions
What needs to be completed on the first but not second pre lim scan ?
DONT DO MACH STALL
3 x verification of QNH -
FORECAST

Return to the bay procedures
AMCO BAY ALLOCATION
COMPLETE LOG FOR GROUND RETURN OUT AND IN TIMES
REOPENING DOORS ON GROUND
NOT ARMED
ARMED
Not armed - CM will get approval from flight crew. Return to bay and organise appropriate GSE in place before reopen
If opened due to obstruction assessment made if any damage and if engineers needed to assess.
CM will also get clearance from flight crew to close the door
ARMED -
CM will gain approval from flight crew
Return to bay. GSE in place
Captain will switch off seatbelt sign but CM PA to advise everyone to remain seated.
FO will make disarm PA CC will ensure all doors disarmed
Approval to open and approval required to close.
If under Marshaller onto bay NIGS must be switched off
If a red light on aerobridge must be confirmed that bridge is fill retracted and safe to continue onto bay

KEEP YOU SAFE UNTIL SORT SHIT OUT
Non controlled aerodrome departure
In FIX PG create a 5nm point with outbound radial on FP.
Then highlight and put in fix page. It will provide LNAV guidance to be established outbound by 5nm
Explain DES NOW
SPD
PTH
Descend now - maintain 1000fpm until it captures an idle descent path
SPD - Will prioritise speed over path. Good for scenarios where overspeed may be likely. But no path protection for altitude requirements
PTH - prioritise path however no overspeed protection. It will let it run into an overspeed.
Gross error n1 check
C9 manual
0.4% difference in n1 is acceptable due to OAT difference in actual OAT and OPT entry
Remember to cancel CLB 1/2 once get unrestricted climb.
Use max rate / angle to get out of weather and bumps. Or use SPD INT to reduce speed
As above
Take note of CI value and wind in FMC set up.
High CI will give a high climb and cruise Mach which may lead to an over speed or very close.
Dont be afraid of reducing it in the preflight stage as a mitigater to prevent an overspeed
Can always make it faster again once conditions are suitable
Immediate return things need.
Ref QRH for order
Bugs - Ref15
CRS
ILS/GLS FWD
Flap Inhibit
TA ONLY
Holding - how long is half a turn at high altitude ?
2.5 minutes
If given a height to be at for the hold how can you achieve this using VNAV and making sure you arrive at that altitude a little early ?
Grab WPT name - XXX /-10 (creating WPT 10nm prior)
Then put your altitude limit at that WPT.
ONCE YOU GET CLOSER TO THE ALT AND WPT TAKE MANUAL CONTROL OF ROD FOR TCAS ETC
What actions need to be done when completed the hold ?
EXIT HOLD
ONCE ESTABLISHED INBOUND - DTO
CHANGE CRZ ALT
CHANGE SPD TO CURRENT SPEED AND HAVE 250kts READY TO EXECUTE AT COMPLETION
When at min speed and then you get descent to allow for eg: vectors -
Amend CRZ ALT and make sure amend speed to current min speed MACH and descent MACH to current min
As above
ILS
GLS when good use distance ?
ILS - 25nm
GLS - 23nm
Yes LNAV until cleared approach preferred
Note discos that take you to the aerodrome then calculate track miles back to the start off approach.
This will leave you way high
Use 20nm ring. 5000ft there and also a point to start bugging back
Flap 40
Flap 30
Target n1 from gross weight ?
Flap 40 is landings weight
Flap 30 landing weight -5
Max motoring - 20% and 1% n2 rotation every 5 seconds can still introduce fuel without reaching 25%
Fail Passive - CAT I/II
Fail Operational - ALL TO CATIIIB
RCF FUEL - TO FLY TO A DECISION POINT AND HAVE FUEL TO CONTINUE TO SUITABLE ALTERNATE
