Q

RNP AR PROP differences to ICAO

A
  • Higher bank angles and speed restrictions
  • Low level off altitudes on final app
  • optimised for certain aircraft and operators
  • use aerodrome specific wind models

VA use GE charts

16
Q

When are ILS critical areas not protected ?

A

Cloud ceiling greater than 600’ or the vis is greater than 2000m

17
Q

FO’s can not be PF below CAT 1 approach

A

As above

18
Q

When are the use of landing lights not recommend?

A

CAT III ILS CONDITIONS ultimately at captains discretion

19
Q

Low vis taxi speed?

A

10 knots

20
Q

FAIL PASSIVE AP FAILURE AT OR BELOW DH RVR _< 300m

A

A manual MAP must be conducted

21
Q

Failure of AP above alert height what must be done ?

A

Revert to CAT I approach procedures

22
Q

FAILURES ABOVE 1000’ AFE for LVO

A

Revert to higher DH/DA if necessary
Engage or reengage AP(s) prior to 1000’ AFE or conduct MAP

If only one AP engaged by 1000’AFE revert to higher minima for the wx conditions

23
Q

NARROW RUNWAY OPS -

TO & LDG XWIND limits

A

25 knots for all wet and dry

  • FO with more than 300hrs on type can operate on 30m RWY provided xwind is less than 10kts*
24
Q

RNP AR -

Limitation with DTO clearances to a RF (Radius to Fix) ?

A

You cannot accept a DTO RT point. You can only except a DTO clearance to the point prior to

25
Q

RNP AR -
Choice of approach minima ?

A

Choose the highest possible minima for the least strain on RNP EQUIPMENT for example.

WX conditions meet 0.3 RNP so select that rather than going for 0.1 RNP

26
Q

When do you know you have approach logic?
And what action coincides with this ?

A

When you get VRNP scale come up and you have magenta ANP/Deviation display.

When you have this and are 300’ below MAP altitude you can set MAP altitude

27
Q

3 step process setting up FMC for circling approach

A
  1. Bring RX06(2NM) TO TOP
  2. SET INTERCEPT CRS
  3. BRING RW06 BELOW RX06

EXECUTE

  • Ensure CRZ ALT is changed to 1500’ for correct Chinese glideslope guidance *
28
Q

Idea for circling in OPC -

A

Once visual because company minimums are 1500’ & 8km vis request a visual approach so if unstable you can conduct visual MAP

MAP procedure from visual approach in CTA. Climb runway heading await instructions from ATC.

29
Q

PRM BREAKOUT

A

Remember to recycle FD’S

30
Q

What speed offers full manoeuvring capability?

A

Vref+5 as long outside amber band

31
Q

QRH NNC reading when get to diamonds

A

You have 2 options
You have 4 options etc
Then read each option,
Select one and read the instructions for the one necessary.

32
Q

Use DATA mode on EFIS control Panel it will show ALTITUDES at fixes on IAP. Extremely handy for height checks.

Eg: @ the FAF GS check on ILS it will be infront of you.

“OKMEL, HEIGHT CHECKED”

A

As above

33
Q

Ensure when Landing data on a checklist comes up that the flap position is added

A

“FLAPS 30, VREF 141 MINIMUMS 260”

34
Q

A

CABIN
COMPANY
PAX

35
Q

A
