Windshear Recovery

A

PM:
“Windshear Set Max Power”
-Apply MTOP, Rotate to 9 Degrees

PM:
-Condition Levers to max
-Trims Power to MTOP

Do Not Change Configuration Until Flight Path Is Under Control

IF THE AIRCRAFT IS STILL DESCENDING

PF:
- “Firewall the Power Levers”
-Increase Pitch to Stop descent but not below V2 / VGA
-Maintain V2 / VGA

PM:
-Firewall Power Levers

Should the Stick Shaker activate in turbulence, immediately reduce the Pitch Attitude sufficiently to silence the Shaker. In the event this should occur close to the ground, maintain the pitch attitude, which silences the Shaker, until terrain contact is no longer a factor, then allow the aircraft to accelerate back to V2/ VGA.

CLIMB UNTIL CLEAR OF OBSTACLES OR TERRAIN Reduce Power and Pitch Attitude appropriate to the phase of flight

Reconfigure aircraft as necessary

MSAW WARNING

A

PF:

-Selects GA (disengage the auto-pilot)
-Advances the Power Levers towards MTOP
-Calls “Going Around Set max Power”
-Roll Wings Level
-Climb aggressively respecting the Stick Shaker
-Target appropriate speed for best angle

PM:

-Advances the Condition Levers to max
-Trims the Power to MTOP
-Calls “Max Power Set”
-Monitor radio altimeter Call out any trend toward terrain contact

IF STILL DESCENDING OR WARNING CONTINUES:

-Calls “Firewall the Power Levers”
-Increase pitch attitude to obtain positive separation from terrain
-Do not allow airspeed to decrease below V2/VGA

ONCE WARNING HAS CEASED AND CLEAR OF OBSTACLES OR TERRAIN:

-Reduce power and pitch attitude appropriate to the phase of flight
-Reconfigure aircraft as necessary

(Or 150kts whichever greater)

Both pilots attempt to dislodge jam.

IF UNABLE TO CONTROL AIRCRAFT

Both Pilots: -Relax Force

PF: “Pitch Disconnect”
PM: -Pulls Pitch Disconnect handle and rotates 90 degrees

-Both Pilots will now attempt to control aircraft.
