Q

Key to Data sufficiency

A
  1. It is all about making inferences.
The point is to find out what info, if any, will give you a definitive answer to the question, so you need to determine exactly what you know from each statement
  2. Treat statements to a question separately
  3. If the statement allows for the possibility of either a yes or no answer to the question statement, then that statement alone is insufficient
And vice versa - if a statement yields the same answer to the question, it is sufficient
  4. NEVER COMBINE THE STATEMENTS UNTIL YOU’VE RULED OUT THE POSSIBILITY THAT EITHER IS SUFFICIENTLY INDEPENDENT (so can combine, once ruled out sufficiency independently)
  5. The statements in data sufficiency do not lie and do not contradict each other
