Q

Lean vs Six Sigma

A

Lean:
1. Increase Efficiency by reducing waste, error or delays,
2. Reduce constraints, Reduce Lead Time
3. Removing non value steps

Six Sigma:
1. Process improvement and reduce variability,
2. Focus on quality & consistency,

Lean used to make improvement efficiency, Six sigma used to maintain the process within control, Start with Lean & Then Implement six sigma.

Lean Tools:
- Value stream mapping

Six Sigma Tools:
- Pareto Analysis
- Cause & Effect Diagram
- Process Map
- Measuring the result
- Statistics to analyze

Q

Lean Six Sigma in Service Industry

A
  1. Service Results are Intangible, Perishable, Heterogeneous output, Simultaneous production & consumption,
  2. Define Quality : Service Product, Service Delivery Process, Customer-Provider Interaction (customer service),
  3. Service Design / Service Delivery,
  4. Most delay in Service Industry happens due to waiting time,
  5. Implement DMAIC
