What is quality assurance?
Procedures to manage all functions that affect quality (Manufacture)
What is quality controll (QC)
Check against the manufacturing specification (Product)
What does the kitemark logo stand for (draw and remember the kitemark logo).
The Kitemark is a UK product and service quality trade mark which is owned and operated by the British Standards Institution (BSI Group).
Quality assurance does not check quality of the final product, so what does it check?
Quality assurance checks the quality of all systems on the production line.
What is The Lion Mark? (Draw and remember it)
The Lion Mark is a British consumer symbol developed
in 1988 by British Toy & Hobby Association (BTHA) and
used to identify toys denoted as safe and of high quality.
What does quality controll specificqlly check?
The process of inspecting products to ensure that
they meet the required quality standards. It may take part in any part of the production.
What is a Jig?
Jigs:
A device you line material up to accurately repeat an operation accurately time after time e.g. for sawing, cutting, drilling, punching.
What is a former?
Formers:
A construction used to help with shaping operations e.g. laminating, vacuum forming, acrylic bending, felt blocking, dressmaker’s dummy, drop moulding & drape forming in clay.
What are moulds?
Moulds:
A shaped cavity used in which a liquid can be poured until it solidifies or cools e.g. jelly making, aluminium casting, slip casting
What are tollerences in QC and QA?
Tolerances are the acceptable range of differences from the agreed standard.
