Briefly describe the Biceps Femoris position
A fusiform muscle situated on the superficial posterolateral aspect of the thigh and lateral border of popliteal fossa
Name the proximal attachments of Biceps Femoris
Long head - lower medial part of the ischial tuberosity
Short head - lower half of the lateral linea aspera and the upper half of the lateral supracondylar line of the femur
Give the distal attachment of the Biceps Femoris
Gets split in two by the lateral collateral ligament
Attaches to the head of the fibula. Slip to lateral Tibial condyle
Give the action(s) of this muscle
Extends the hip
Flexes the Knee
Laterally rotates the leg when knee is semiflexed
