Q

LIQUIFIED PETROLEUM GAS FIRE USING WATER..

A

–LPG fires should not be extinguished unless immediate fuel shutoff is possible …LPG vapors ARE HEAVIER THAN AIR and can flow downward considerable distance

  • open the water nozzles first and adjust to FOG
  • then open dry chem and direct stream at the fuel source

-simultaneous use of water and dry chem coming to make a highly effective fire fighting tool..water acts as a coolant and heat shield and dry chem provides the means for rapid extinguishment
