Phoenicians. Romans call them Punics.

1- They steal a carthedinian ship.
2- they make a blue print of that.
3- And they build a lots of ships just like it!
How do they learn navial skills?
In the legions they have soldiers from other countries, that helps them a lot.
What part of sicilly isn’t in the hands of carthage?
Syracuse. It is a greek city that is allied to Rome.
What did the greeks from Syracuse invent that the Romans can use?
A corvus. A gang planc that can be hooked to a ship. The romans can cross over the oponents ship and use their military land thecnics.
What other islands become romans in the following years after the first punic war?
Sardinia and Corsica.

Sicilly become a part of Rome. It is rome’s first province.
When did the Second punic war happen?
218-201 BC.
who is the military leader of carthage in the second punic war?
Hannibal.
What does Hannibal use to get to Rome?
37 war elephants. He goes from spain to the alps.
When did the 3rd punic war happen?
149-146 BC.
How does the 3rd punic war end?
Carthage ends in flames. Romans completely destroy the city.
