Q

The pulper grinds up the food waste, mixes it with water and turns it into a slurry of __ percent solid and __ percent water. The slurry is pumped into an extractor, where the water is removed and recycled in the pulper, which then discharges the finely ground material.

A

Q

How does a waste dehydrator work?

A
  1. Place compostable waste including food waste, compostable disposables and cardboard in the Dehydrator.
  2. Agitators will stir the waste. The unit’s decomposing chamber will heat the waste, kill any bacteria and reduce the waste matter by up to 93%. Temperatures up to 180° ensure the end product is odor free. Additional waste material can not be added during the cycle.
  3. The end product is a material ideal for use as soil amendment. It is dry, light and odor-free.

Q

How does a closed-coupled pulper work?

A
  1. Foodservice waste enters the pulper and is mixed with water to create a pulpable slurry comprised of approximately 95% liquid and 5% solids.
  2. The slurry is transported through a short pipeline to the closely attached Hydra-Extractor.
  3. The Hydra-Extractor removes most of the water and the semi-dry pulp is discharged into a container for disposal.
  4. The extracted water is recovered and returned to the pulping tank for re-use, offering significant water saving.
  5. The Grabber system is available for flatware removal.
