A
High BP in pulmonary arteries.
Strain on Right side of heart = back flow.

Signs + symptoms of Pulmonary Hypertension?
A
Right sided Heart Failure, Hepatomegaly

Investigations for Pulmonary Hypertension?
A
1) History + examination
2) ECG
3) BNP - raised
4) CXR - dilated pulmonary arteries, cardiomegaly.

Causes of Pulmonary Hypertension?
A
1ary: ILD = connective tissue disorder
2ndary - ANY other conditions: Left sided heart failure, COPD, hypertension etc.

Managing 2ndary Pulmonary Hypertension?
A
Treat underlying cause + manage symptoms

Treatment: IV prostanoids, Endothelin receptor antagonists + PDE-5 inhibitors?
A
Treating 1ary Pulmonary Hypertension.
