A

The volume of air exhaled in 1 second by a forced expiration after a full inspiration
* Reflects airflow
*Gauge if someone gas ASTHMA

A

Inhale maximally live SVC but hard & fast at exhalation
Measures total air expired after maximal exhalation

Forced Expiratory Ratio

A

FEV1/FVC …..Normal=75%
Increased/normal-indicates Restrictive Disorder eg muscular dystrophy,pulmonary fibrosis,sarcoidosis,obesity.
Decreased- Obstructive disorder eg COPD,asthma,cystic fibrosis.
