Lung fnxn: FEV >80% predicted, FEV/FVC normal
Moderate asthma exacerbation classification
Symptoms: Daily
Nighttime awakenings: >1week but not nightly
Short acting B-agonist use: Daily
Lung fnxn: FEV >60% predicted, FEV/FVC reduced by 5%
Severe asthma classification
Symptoms: Throughout the day
Nighttime awakenings: Often nightly
Short acting B-agonist use: Several times per day
Lung fnxn: FEV1 <60% predicted, FEV/FVC reduced by >5%
