Who was Thomas Arnold and what did he do?

A

Arnold was headmaster of rugby school and wanted his pupils to grow up as moral Christian gentlemen. He got rid of the fagging system and promoted more regulated sport. he developed the house system. He also instigated pre-fects, who organised sport. And promoted muscular Christianity.
