A
- Common, easily identifiable, treatable
- Often asymptomatic
- Associated with high mortality
- High cost of management (CKD & ESRD)
- Resources are limited; developing nations

A
Blood testing for creatinine and eGFR
Urine testing for blood/protein

What are risk factors for CKD, so what should we do as a result?
A
Risk factors - diabetes, hypertension, age. For this reason we need a preventative approach: • Identify patients • Control blood pressure • Control diabetes • Monitor kidney function • Raise awareness
