In people over 60 years of age, isolated systolic hypertension (ISH) is the most common form of blood pressure elevation (systolic blood pressure >160 mmHg when diastolic blood pressure was <95 mmHg)
Factors to be diagnosed with metabolic syndrome
Abdominal obesity - Men: >40 in (102 cm); women >35 in (88 cm)
Triglycerides - > 1.7 mmol/l
HDL-C - < 1 mmol/l in men; < 1.3 mmol/l in women
Blood pressure - >130/>85 mm Hg
Fasting glucose > 5.6 mmol/l
