A
Exposure to potentially traumatic event leading to:
1) Intrusive symptoms
2) Avoidant thoughts and behaviors
3) Negative cognitions and mood
4) Alterations in arousal and reactivity
More specifically: A) Stressor B) Intrusion symptoms C) Avoidance D) Negative alterations in cognitions and mood E) Alerations in arousal and reactivity F) Duration G) Functional significance H) Exclusion
SPECIFY IF: dissociative symptoms or delayed expression
Symptoms may start immediately after trauma, full diagnosis is at least 6 months after trauma

A
2 years - median time to remission
More than 1/2 of pts with PTSD at 3 years still have it at 10 years
