Statistical Infrequency explanation
️Behaviour that is statistically infrequent or very rarely seen in the general population
Deviation from Social Norms explanation
️Behaviour that is seen as socially unacceptable or undesirable within society
Deviation from ideal mental health explanation
When somebody does not meet a set of criteria for mental wellbeing (Link to Jahoda)
e.g. Not being able to make own decisions
Failure to function adequately explanation
️Behaviour that means someone is unable to cope or engage with the activities in normal day to day life

6 factors (PRRAMS)
- Positive attitudes towards yourself
= accept your faults but generally have good self esteem - accurate perception of Reality
= no distorted, negative or delusional views of situations - Resistance to stress
= being able to endure & recover from periods of stress (day to day) - Autonomy
= feeling like you have control of your own future & decisions - Mastery of the environment
= being competent & effective & flexible in all aspects of life - Self-actualisation
= being able to fulfil your potential, not wasting time doing things you
don’t want
