What is Clinical Psychology?
A type of psychology in which people seek therapy. Therapists carry out formal assesstments of their clients to understand their mental state and personality. Usually work in public health domain, schools, corporate institutions, research settings.
What is Councelling Psychology?
Counselling psychologists give importance to the individual, their relationships and external behavior. They provide assessments, diagnosis, consultation and treatment. Usually work in public health domain, schools, corporate institutions, research settings
What is the difference between clinical and councelling psychology?
Clinical- mainly assestments
Councelling- focus on typical life stresses
What is Social Psychology?
The study of attitudes and human behavior, and how they are influenced by social situations as well as their mental state. They study cognitive factors that cause behavior to change. Usually work in an educational environment and government offices, private corporations.
What is Educational Psychology?
They tackle learning difficulties, social and emotional problems, and complex developmental disorders. They can work dircetly (providing councelling) or indirectly (working with parents/teachers) with the child. Often work in schools, colleges, social services.
What is Organizational Psychology?
Mainly work with companies and industries regarding workers’ needs. They imporve the efficiency of the company, the weebing of the workers and overall companies’ success. Often work in government and private sector.
What is Health Psychology?
Concerned with physical illness and health promotion. How the cognitive has an effect of the physical health. Often work in hospitals, health research units.
What is Research Psychology?
Use the scientific method to examine questions and test hypotheses to understand human behavior. They do research to improve society. Often work in universities or private research units.
