To avoid cardiac toxicity what do you treat with?

A

TCA poisoning. Hypotension due to TCA alpha 1 adrenergic receptor blocking and other effects due to anti-cholinergic side effects. Note that TCA’s are associated with coma, convulsions, and cardiac toxicity.

Treat with sodium bicarbonate – to prevent arrhythmias. Sodium bicarbonate acts as an antidote by alkalinizing the plasma.
