All for 48hrs

No prostate biopsy (past 6weeks) / DRE (last 7 days)

Gloved lubricated finger to examine prostate

“AFTER” part of PSA (further investigaitons + pathway)

Results should come back fairly quickly
If PSA high in conjunction with DRE, may need referaly to a 2week referal.

May need MRI + prostate biopsy if needed

What are the cons of doing a PSA

Answer 6

75% of positive results will actually have a normal MRI / Biopsy so may put you through unecessary pain / risk of infection
