What is a PRR
A
preventative resin restoration , involving enamel only or just into the outer area of dentine
If it goes any deeper than that, it is an occlusal restoration

what are the clinical techniques/ steps to cary out a PRR
A
consent from patient
check radiographs
enamel caries can be hard to see so mark with articulating paper
administer ocal anaesthetic
apply dental dam
clean tooth thoroughly using a fissure bar with high speed to widen and deepen the fissure and gain access to dentine A small round bur is now used to remove soft demineralised dentine which is often stained from the enamel dentine junction
