Knock on the door
Introduce yourself
Explain care to the patient
Close the curtain
Wash your hands
Identify patient
Collect your supplies

Steps
Place the barrier on the floor
Fill the basin with water
Pull up the patients pants and take off their socks
Put on your gloves
Put the patients foot in the water
Take a wash cloth and wring it out on top of the patients foot
Take the patients foot out of the water
Put it on top of the towel
Take the other wash cloth and apply soap on it
Wash the patients foot, top bottom and in between toes
LOOK OUT FOR ULCERS AND WOUNDS
Put the patients back in the water and rinse it
Take it back out
Dry the patients foot
Apply lotion on top and bottom of foot
Remove excess lotion with the towel
Put the patients sock back on, lower their pants, and put their shoe back on
Throw dirty linen away
Wash basin
Put lotion & soap in basin and put it away
Remove your gloves
Ensure the call light
Ask for magazines
Ask the patient if they want the curtain open or closed
Wash hands
