Put on your gloves
Put the privacy blanket on the patient
Pull the bed sheet down
Put the under pad under the patient
Place the bed pan under them
Take off your gloves
Put the bed rest up and tell them to place the the bed pan in a way they are comfortable
Give them toilet paper
Ensure the call light
Leave the room

Put on your gloves
Put bed rest down
Remove bed pan and under pad
Throw under pad away
Dispose what’s inside the bed pan
Wash the bed pan and throw whatever is inside in the toilet
Rinse it
Dry it and put it away in the drawer with the toilet paper inside
Remove your gloves
Remove privacy blanket & throw it in dirty linen
Ensure call light
Ask for magazines
Ask the patient if they want the curtain open or closed
Wash your hands
