Proverbs Flashcards

1
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
2
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
3
Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
4
My son, attend unto my wisdom, [and] bow thine

My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,

My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
7

9
The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a
glad father: but a foolish son [is] the heaviness of his
mother.
10
A false balance [is] abomination to the LORD: but
a just weight [is] his delight.
11
Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but
he that hateth reproof [is] brutish.
12
A wise son [heareth] his father’s instruction: but a
scorner heareth not rebuke.
13
Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
