- plasmodium uses the mosquito as a vector to infect other hosts
- the female mosquito will find a blood source to try and feed its children
- the mosquito will get the blood and in the case that it is infected, the parasite will travel into the stomach where it will from cysts that will burst - they then move to the salivary glands of the mosquito
- the parasite travels into the blood
- where it will infect the red blood cells of the liver
- red blood cells will burst
- Plasmodium cause the disease which can be transported by the mosquito to new hosts
