Protien Synthesis Flashcards
Stage one of protien synthesis
Mrna is formed which is a copy of the original DNA
Stage 2 of protien synthesis
An enzyme called RNA polymerase binds to non-coding DNA
Stage 3 of protien synthesis
These two strands of dna pull apart from each other and RNA polymerase allows MRNA nucleotides to match their complementary bases on the strand
Stage 4 of protien synthesis
The MRNA moves from nucleus
To cytoplasm
To ribosomes
Stage 5 of protien synthesis
At the ribosomes the bases in the mrna are read in triplets to code for amino acids
Stage 6 of protien synthesis
The corresponding amino acids are brought to the ribosomes by TRNAS(transport RNA)
Stage 7 of protien synthesis
These amino acids connect together to form polypeptides
Stage 8 of protien synthesis
When the protien is complete it folds into a 3d shape
