Q

What does the specific order of the amino acids determine

A

The shape of the protein, and the shape of the protein determines its function. It also determines the sequences of bases in that gene

Q

What happens in translation

A

mRNA attaches to a ribosome
amino acids are brought to the ribosomes on tRNA
The ribosomes read the triplets of bases on the mRNA
and uses this to join the correct amino acids in the correct order
