Describe a Lath house
also known as shade houses
They have no cladding - they are open to air circulation
Square/rectangle from wood or metal
clad in wooden laths, netting/windbreak material
what is the purpose of a lath house?
to reduce cold winds and provide a cool but sheltered environment.
Used for plants/shrubs suited to woodland/shady conditions.
eg; Hostas, Trilliums, Rhododendrons

in countries with very hot summers where plants can be easily scorched
eg; Italy, Turkey or Southern California
