This is defined as mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or electronic device designed to
prevent entry to building, room container or hiding place (Manwong, 2008)
Lock
commonly used to avoid unwanted access to properties, such as
houses, warehouses, factories, etc.
Protective lock
This is a lock by which mechanism is that it will only
operate when its internal barriers are properly aligned
Key-operated mechanical lock
each lever being attached on a fixed point and is held against a
stop by the pressure of the flat spring
Lever tumbler lock
also known as wafer tumbler. This has metal tumblers with open
center fitted into a lock case
Disc tumbler lock
this compose of a number of round pin or tumblers operating in
cylinder
Pin tumbler lock
This is a portable lock having a sliding hasp which passes through a staple
ring. A type of lock that has a U-shaped hinge designed to hook onto the item that needs
to be secured.
Padlock
– A type of lock that uses numbers, letters or symbols instead of using
the key. Those characters will enable the operator to align the pins.
Combination lock
Lock by which mechanism is operated by pressing button of codes
Code-operated lock
A type of lock that can be operated by a card that is coded.
Card-operated lock
A type of lock that can be operated through means of electricity
Electrical lock
A machine that can be used for identification of human by their
characteristics or traits.
Biometrics
This is a device that is used to open a door. Has two main parts the: The BLADE and the BOW
Key
As the handling/ of keys a known management business or infrastructure to avoid
unwanted access to the keys.
Key control
A key that operates one lock only. All keys are considered change keys.
