GI intolarance, wt gain, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia (avoid lovastatin and simvastatin), lipodystrophy, incr risk of MI, Bleeding (esp w/ Atazanavir, Darunavir, Fosamprenavir)
- take with food except Indinavir and Fosamprenavir susp form
- all go to liver; do not use with Rifampin
IDV
Indinavir (Crixivan)
kidney stone (nephrolithiasis), empty stomach, drink 1.5L/day, acid reflux (use Zantac)
sensitive to moisture; store in original bottle; wo dessicant, good for 3 days
LPV+ RTV
Lopinavir/Ritonavir (Kaletra) alcohol 42% tablet- regardless of food (200/50) solution -with food to enhance absorption; in fridgel; 2 mos if store at RT. cause severe migraine and pancreatitis.
NPV
Nelfinavir (Viracept)
come in powder; stable for 6 hr after mix if refrigerated.
bad diarrhea-tx with Imodium or Lomotil

Ritonavir (Norvir) 600 mg (6 caps) bid alcohol ritonavir tab-RT; 2 wks stable if outside original container Ritonavir cap - in frid; 30 days for RT Ritonavir solution- shelf Ritonavir + lopinavir solution- in frid Ritonavir + Lopinavir tab - shelf SE: numbness; highest hyperlipidemia.

life treatehing cardiac effects when use with Ritonavir (use within 2 hours of food)

contains alcohol, sulfa allergy
BBW: Intracranial hemorrhage; fatal hepatotoxicity
refrig caps b4 opening; 60 days at RT
FPV
Fosamprenavir (Lexiva)
sulfonamide allergy
avoid PPI and H2RA blockers to prevent treatment failure.
Fosamprenavir soln-empty stomach.

Atazanavir (Reyataz) dose QD; does not affect lipid prolong PR, cause AV block CI: Indavir (incr bilirubin); Viread (Reyataz incr Viread level; Viread decr Reyataz) AZT: Zidovudine (Retrovir)-NRTI

must be taken with ritonavir
